Permanent Entry Visas: Permanent entry visa applications from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen (the Gulf States) should be lodged direct with Beirut where they are processed and decided. If they are lodged with Dubai they will be forwarded to Beirut but this will take some time.
Temporary Entry Visas: Temporary entry visa applications from United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Yemen are lodged, processed and decided in Dubai, except long stay business visitor visas (subclass 457) which are transferred to Beirut for decision.
Special Procedures: A migration officer from Beirut visits Dubai regularly to conduct interviews.

An Australian Embassy was opened in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in September 1999 but it has no visa function.
